Cornell scientists extract fluorine in large quantity
Two Cornell researchers Prof Wilder D Bancroft and Newton C Jones reported at the American Electro Chemical Society meeting that they can produce fluorine from fused potassium hydrogen fluoride in large quantities. They noted fluorine’s strong reactivity with many substances and potential for medicines dyes and synthesis.
