Separate Trials In Miners Case Move Forward With Spinosa Here

In Parkersburg on May 31 prosecutors and defense won permission to try defendants separately in the Gises case tied to Brooke county coal mine picketing and the Dayton injunction. John A. Howard said Spinosa led 170 miners on strike and that 150 others were deterred from working amid threats and gunfire as deputies guarded the site. The defense sought Brooke circuit court jurisdiction but Judge Baker overruled. The injunction and alleged violations under state law will anchor the trial.
