Man found not guilty after admitting shooting neighbor
A McDowell County jury found Mark Johnson not guilty of first degree murder after he admitted shooting Wayne Somoskey in a long-standing property dispute. Johnson said he acted in self defense when Somoskey threatened to sic his dog. Prosecutor David Thompson noted Somoskey died from two chest wounds and the case centered on a neighborly feud over adjacent property.
