Judge orders psychological exam for tickling suspect

James W. Buff, 50, pleaded innocent to battery, criminal trespassing and resisting law enforcement after allegedly entering Velda Poer’s Cedar Lake home to tickle her feet. He was arrested near the residence Sunday while fleeing on a bicycle. A judge ordered a psychological evaluation with a mental competency hearing set for August 13 and bail at $100,000.

North says Congress, not White House, the problem

In Lebanon Virginia retired Marine Lt Col Oliver North campaigned for Republican Gary Weddle and commented that Congress is the problem in Washington not the White House. Rocky Gap man dies in Route 606 crash near Hollybrook

A 23 year old Rocky Gap resident Ricky Dale Looney died at the scene when the 1985 Ford left the road and hit a bridge abutment on Route 606 near Hollybrook Bland County Virginia. Driver Patrick Wayne Stowers from Bastian Va. may have been injured. Trooper G N Smith leads the investigation. Five accidents were reported Friday evening including a wreck in Tazewell County Virginia injuring a sheriff deputy and property damage to a house. A separate crash on Route 102 in West Virginia injured Deputy Don Owens near the state line at Pocahontas. The incidents occurred around 6 40 p m to 7 30 p m.
