Captain Edward Frazee reported to the county court that the Bluefield Community Home cared for 61 juvenile cases in the first six months. Of these, 13 girls and 36 boys were committed, with detailed origins and offenses, plus 12 dependent children cared for.

A special train from Bluefield to Norfolk departs at 7 45 a m and arrives 7 50 p m with return departures from Norfolk at 8 p m and Petersburg at 10 15 p m the following Friday giving three seaside days. Excursion price is 5 50 Bluefield to Petersburg and 6 to Norfolk.
The Covenanter boys of the Presbyterian church plan to depart Monday at 8 am for Camp Bena Keyembi on Wolfe Creek Bland County. About fifty boys will spend a week at the camp with Rev. S W Moore in charge.
Bluefield Post No. 9 American Legion shifts Monday Dug-Out meeting to 7 p m to allow attendance at Chautauqua program. A H Horton national headquarters speaker will address, joined by state officers and J Byron Nickerson may accompany him. Women’s auxiliary, Kiwanis Rotary Chamber of Commerce invited. Welch and Matoaka posts also asked. refreshments and music planned.
Bank burglars broke into the First National Bank of Ripley Friday night and took about 15000 dollars. Authorities report they conducted a bonds and cash check after the theft but left no trace of the robbers.

A new law to register births deaths and marriages in West Virginia takes effect July 21 1921. Passed April 22 1921 the act repeals parts of codes 63 and 150 and substitutes a modern vital statistics system, addressing long standing inadequacies of the old system and aligning the state with other states in accurate vital records.
