Bluefield Fourth of July Contests Draw Large Crowd and Fans

Bluefield celebrated the Fourth with base ball games Graham versus Keystone and Bramwell versus Cambridge. Keystone won a ten inning thriller six to five over Graham. Gates opened early. 2,000 spectators thronged the grounds at the tower as prizes were awarded and the day proceeded with good humor and order.

Fatal shooting at McDowell ends in multiple deaths

A Friday skirmish at McDowell left three men shot as tensions over a wife and alleged infidelity sparked violence.
