Greenbrier Hotel Reopens To Public After Internee Departure
Greenbrier hotel in White Sulphur Springs West Virginia will reopen to the public on July 9 after the departure of the last group of axis internees. About 100 Germans remain to leave early next week while more than two thousand Germans Japanese Italians Romanians Hungarians were held at the Spa under the State Department. The largest interned group near 600 Germans and Japanese stayed at the hotel over a month ago. Japanese arrivals began last April from Hot Springs Virginia and 242 Romanians Hungarians and Italians were moved to Asheville North Carolina to make room. All Japanese were moved out last month. Post war cars are expected to be smaller and lighter.
