Huntington West Virginia and nearby towns vote for new leaders of two veteran groups. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans chose W W Smith Masontown and William J O Neil Charleston as department commanders respectively. Officers for 1052 include R P Powell Welch and J B Crim Charleston among others. New commander nominations list W R Bowles Staunton and W A Schmidt Clarksburg with several staff posts. The groups aim to secure travel funding for veterans visiting France Cuba and other sites and seek Capitol office space in Charleston.

G. W. Hall Returns Home After Trial In Raleigh
G W Hall returns to Reidsville North Carolina after trial in the United States district court. A verdict of 25000 was awarded to Hall against the Norfolk and Western Railway company and the American Railway Express company. A prior trial had awarded Hall 18000 in damages. State Troopers and Miners Injured in Disorder at Walnut Hill Mine
Pittsburgh July 3. Sheriff James White Greene county two state policemen and several striking miners were injured as they tried to avert disorder at the Walnut Hill mine of West Point Coal company. A woman threw nepper into the eyes of Sergeant Maurice Harnels. Four pickets were arrested and taken to the county jail. Miners going to work at the Warden mine near West Newton were also stoned with no injuries reported.

Funeral services for R. B. Claytor a former Princeton resident will be held at 2 PM today at the First Methodist Church. The Rev W M Morrell will lead, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Claytor died Thursday at Levi near Charleston after his body was moved to Princeton and to his daughter Mrs Hugene Williams home on Kee Street. The widow is near death. relatives expect a momentary parsing. Cars for services should be at Kee Street by 12:30.
