Plea Accepted in Grisly Minnesota Murder Case
Anna Marie Choudhary of Boone North Carolina pleads guilty to second degree murder in a case where John Thomas McGuire of Minnesota was struck with a wine bottle, tortured, injected, strangled, disinterred and buried multiple times. Trial had been set for February. Choudhary faces up to 40 years in prison.

Justice: Federal vaccine doses rise in West Virginia

Eight COVID-19 deaths reported in region named counties
Eight coronavirus related deaths were reported Wednesday in the region. Six came from Southwest Virginia with three in Tazewell County and three in Buchanan County. In West Virginia an 83-year-old Mercer County woman, the 85th regional death, died. McDowell County also reported a COVID-19 death. Mercer active cases stood at 1,139 on Wednesday, down from 1,169 Tuesday and 1,199 Sunday.

Northam extends Virginia indoor gathering restrictions through February
