Du Pont dies of heart disease at Brunswick home
William Du Pont aged 73 and a noted chemical manufacturer collapsed while reading a newspaper at his winter home near Brunswick Georgia and died of heart disease. He was accompanied by his daughter Mrs Somerville his physician Dr E J Ryan his secretary and a nurse. He had arrived two weeks earlier for his annual visit and had been taking long motor rides daily. He leaves two children Mrs Somerville and William Du Pont Jr. of Wilmington and his body will be sent there for funeral services. He was a pioneer in high explosive manufacture born August 21 1856 and a brother of the late Senator Henry A Du Pont.
