Prohibition Amendment Proposal Circulates in State
Citizens in West Virginia petition to submit a constitutional amendment forever prohibiting the manufacture, sale, and storage of intoxicating drinks. The call follows a governor's request for an extra legislative session to consider a local option and possibly wider prohibitory measures. The petition appeared in the city and county, signed by many residents as part of a statewide drive ahead of the November 1908 general election. Funeral notices accompany reports of deaths and arrivals of Mrs Stinson and the mother and daughter killed far apart, with plans for a funeral in the city.
