Mercer county chapter head William I. Munsey announced the 1947 March of Dimes will launch in Bluefield January 16 30 to fund polio emergency aid units. He urged greater support after last summer’s polio epidemic, noting units include surgeons nurses therapists and epidemiologists aiding hospital facilities and patient care. Head Of Wyoming County Bar Dies At Rochester Clinic
Frank E. Shannon 84 of Pineville, longtime Wyoming county bar president, died Sunday at Mayo Clinic Rochester Minn from stomach failure. He practiced law since 1911, passed the bar by self study, served three times as prosecuting attorney and led the Republican executive committee. Funeral plans await return to Pineville Tuesday morning. He is survived by his wife who accompanied the body.
