Seat Pleasant Md Jan 4 authorities said an elderly uncle by marriage of Naomi Hall Brady was arrested for investigation in the New Year bomb tragedy. The blast killed Naomi Brady and others. Dorothy Hall died later, and a joint funeral for Naomi and Samuel Hall was held as investigators seek the sender.
Dr. Thomas Filban says a jealous quarrel involving a film actress killed William Desmond Taylor, naming no actress. He cites Henry Peavey, Taylor’s houseboy, who allegedly tried to suppress the story and leave town. Director Tano was shot dead in Hollywood on February 1, 1922.

Cleveland police on twelve hour shifts pursue a maniac gunman who has wounded three women in two weeks. They describe him as slim, dark complexioned, hook nosed about 26, and threaten to get him dead or alive. Miss Janet Blood, 16, is critically wounded in last night’s attack.
Chicago faces a planned reduction in the city budget affecting summer recreation. Walter Wright, superintendent, says a $149000 cut will close all supervised beaches and the city will dismiss 118 life guards and 62 other staff, leaving beaches unprotected.
EN. JOHN J. PERSHING, World war chief, is urged by friends to enter the Republican primary in Nebraska to oppose Senator George W. Norris, Progressive. Leaders believe the movement will spread over the state.
Lincoln Neb Jan 4 Nebraskan Marke Woods a business and political leader and Pershing movement booster today announced a plan to draft Gen John J Pershing for the United States Senate in the 1920s Republican primaries August 19 Nebraskans would back him against Senator George W Norrie Woods said the draft would spread if popular sentiment grows Pershing indicated he had not considered running and would await public reaction while drafters prepare petitions backed by Legion farmers and business leaders
Sheriff Ford Moore and state police combed the Charles Kildow farm at Bethseda near St. Clairesville in a futile bid to trap Irene Schroeder, wanted for the fatal shooting of Pennsylvania highway patrolman Corp. Brady Paul. No trace found though a tip linked Schroeder to the Kildow property. Alice Kildow, former roommate of Schroeder, is cited in the report.
New York January 4 police dispersed a disturbance after an outdoor Communist party meeting on Fifth Avenue. Ten women and nineteen men were arrested as hundreds marched singing up the avenue and clashed with officers. Reserves were called and the disorder continued until control was restored.
Washington January 4 Architect David B Lynn investigated last night's fire in artist Charles E Moberlys Capitol studio. Lynn could not determine if the blaze started from a careless smoker or spontaneous combustion. Samuel Hall a former Capitol policeman corroborated details as Moberly slept at his desk before the fire alarms.
In Covington and Cincinnati two killings and a suicide claim four lives. Bert Watson shot his wife and Greta Schroeder before killing himself. adopted son John Tomlinson witnessed. Albert Wiegand shot his sisters Ana and Ida then killed himself as unrest over unemployment gripped the region.
Charleston January 4 The state treasury reports a cash balance of 6 243 602 03 on December 31 an increase of 881 407 13 from November 30 State funds in securities total 17 592 000 overdrafts include 1 123 480 24 in the general fund and 288 493 97 in the sinking fund The capitol building fund rises from 12 22 to 9 986 57 escrowed debt bonds amount to 477 600 and securities with the insurance commissioner total 161 154 169 40
Walter H. Newton, secretary to President Hoover, filed two suits totaling 60000 against Minneapolis Street Railway for injuries to his son John Marshall after a street car struck him on June 20. The boy lost his leg and doctors later amputated it.

Two people died and three were seriously injured when a sedan crashed into a truck on Highway 31 near Seymour Indiana and caught fire. Norton 70 of Franklin and Mrs Chandler 67 of Taylorsville died. injured include John Walz 42, Hazel Walz 38, Lillian Walz 14, and Clark Pittman the truck driver. Rescuers W G Ross and Paul Smith aided victims. The crash occurred as the sedan rammed the truck after stopping to inspect crates.
