Firemen Find Broken Window Fire Damage in Bellwood School
Fire damaged a three room integrated school and Baptist church in Bellwood Fayette County with a back room fire started in a box containing books and two footballs. Deputy Fire Marshal and local chief note no faulty wiring and water supply was scarce. Eleven teachers served sixty-two students many of them Negroes. Damages were about 1500 dollars.

Oceana Man Found Dead In His Home
About 70 year old Oceana resident Sow Blankenship was found dead in his house Friday at 1 30 p m. Dr. R C Hatfield said he likely died about 24 hours earlier from a heart ailment. State Trooper Fairchild and Deputy Sheriff Acey Aliff led the investigation. The empty oil tank and no heat were noted. Blankenship's brother Eli of Simon visited his home after his wife shopped, and found him on the bed. His son John lived nearby but was at the mines Friday. Neighbors had not seen him for a couple of days.
