Southwest Panel Endorses Coalfield Tax Credit Plan
In a 16 to 1 vote the Senate Finance Committee advanced the Coalfield Employment Enhancement Tax Credit bill. Del. Richard Cranwell urged support citing coalfield hardship and personal ties to Tazewell and Richlands High School. Freezer death indictments in McDowell Grand Jury
McDowell County Grand Jury indicted Gary man David Lawrence Dixon on first degree murder sexual assault and abduction in the death of Bertha Hairston Hodge whose body was found stuffed inside a home freezer. Also indicted was Lawrence Edward Christian III for first degree murder in a Maitland area shooting.
