George McGrady, who arrived drunk, allegedly argued with Willis and his wife then the gun fired. McGrady turned himself in and remains jailed as the case awaits grand jury action in June.

Bluefield, Bramwell, Matoaka, Spanishburg and Athens report rising waters and rockslides. Emergency services coordinate, with Red Cross alerted for possible evacuations.
In Tazewell Virginia Ruby Perdue faces child neglect charges tied to alleged abuse of her 12 year old daughter by her live in partner Buddy Griffith. Special Prosecutor Dennis Jones said Perdue was present during episodes and even moved items from the bedroom during the 1990 incident. Defense argues the case stems from a custody dispute and a troubled family situation. Griffith faces separate charges of rape and sexual abuse and awaits trial.
