Richard A Shirey Dies Suddenly At Mount Hope
Richard A Shirey 18 longtime Beaver high school student and son of Mr and Mrs R E Shirey of 2130 Jefferson street died suddenly from a heart attack at the Y M C A gym in Mount Hope just before a Beaver Mount Hope basketball game. He collapsed after a light lunch en route with friends to the game and died despite rapid medical aid. He was born August 16 1913 in Bluefield and is survived by his parents a brother Robert E Shirey Jr and a sister Mrs John A Gott.
