Welch High School roof fire causes 3000 in damage
Welch High School suffered an undetermined origin fire that damaged the roof of the main classroom building by about 3000 dollars. The blaze started in the loft and spread via a ventilation shaft but was contained to a 25 foot area. Students were evacuated and classes proceed today. Fire crews from multiple towns worked with two inch and a half lines, delivering 120 gallons per minute for 45 minutes to control the fire.
