Mrs Nation was released from jail on bond and left for Peoria Illinois at 6 am to serve as editor of the Peoria Journal for one day. J W Adams was fatally wounded during a raid on Curtis wholesale liquor house at midnight. A car load of beer was unloaded earlier, about fifty armed men smashed the door and cases. Adams says he was shot by a policeman. Rev I Peterson was hurt but not seriously.
San Francisco reports no further bodies found from the Rio de Janeiro disaster. Experts say the wreck site lies six fathoms deep, beyond divers reach, and the chance of recovering the missing remains is unlikely.
District Attorney Philbin said he would not oppose a motion for Dr. Kennedy's discharge on his own recognition and Kennedy's lawyers planned to file later. Philbin added it would be useless to pursue a third trial given the jury's disagreement.
