City officials announce the repair and raising of the foot and wagon bridge on Grant Street to match Princeton Avenue elevation. Work by railroad staff will take about a week to ten days, with the south end raised several feet. The project ends a period of poor bridge condition and promises a major local improvement.

A dining car on eastbound passenger train No. 16 yielded sixty two pints of liquor. Five negro cooks and waiters on the car were arrested in Bluerstown and jailed, with liquor removed to a city office, later dumped into the gutter. This marked the third such raid on No. 16 dining cars in recent nights. prior arrests included W H Cobb and a Friday night seizure of about thirty pints.

Fred Spotts Wimmer, 19, of St Clair Virginia, an employee of H M Waugh Construction Co, died after being drawn into the cog gears of a large mountain steed engine used by White Oak Lumber Co on Lewis Creek near Honaker Virginia. The tragedy occurred at 1 30 pm yesterday. His body was recovered and sent to St Clair for interment Monday. He was the son of Mrs Frances Wimmer and brother of Kite and Sam Wimmer, with two sisters and another brother in the area.
