City Director Jailed on Assault Charge
Bluefield city official Leland Carter 63 was jailed Monday night after a dispute with a tenant at his west Bluefield apartment building. Two to Enter Richlands Home Shot by Defender
A 27-year-old man was shot and seriously injured while two alleged intruders forced entry into the Richlands residence of Mrs. R. A. Packett. Her 17-year-old son fired a pistol, wounding Charles Jones who remains in serious condition. the juvenile suspect is jailed on felonious assault auto theft and breaking and entering charges. The pair were captured in Claypool Hill shortly after the incident.
