Local artists from Bluefield under the Princeton Music club present excerpts from Faust Carmen and Verdi Tri Trovatore at Princeton high school auditorium this evening. Miss Faye Porterfield and Mrs. R J Cousin sing roles, with choruses and a solo dance by Miss Ray Matz. The program, aided by Mrs. Philly Lilly and others, promises an artistic concert.

Younger Set Dance At Studios Of O B Ayers
A popular group of about 125 young people attended a Saturday evening dance at the studio of O B Ayers in the Coal and Coke building. Guests included Shirley Lenett Betty Hawkins Nina Smith Allee Osborne and Margaret Allen Buchanan Frank O’Brien Dick Connell and Wharton Black. The Bluefeld collegians provided the music and guests were served punch and cookies after the program.

Mrs Bernard McClaugherty presided as president as the Bluefield Delphian club held a rover session at the West Virginian. Mrs Sublette led the afternoon with a talk on The Technique of Poetry and read several poems. A review of Stephen Vincent Benet’s life followed. Mrs Carr delivered a lyric review of Benet’s John Brown’s Body. The meeting drew good attendance and much interest.
