Marvin Lenett of Beaver High School won last night’s oratorical contest at Emory College, Emory, Virginia, defeating seven rivals in the elimination event with his speech titled A Bargain. The victory marks the fourth win in five events for Lenett, with other winners named Dill Gondy Koontz Arthur Burgess and Fidelia Richardson. Coach Mrs G Wy Jackson reported Lewart reached the finals and announced Lenett’s triumph.
