Peggy McFarland Weds Luther Turner in Quiet Westminster Ceremony
Miss Peggy McFarland, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel K. McFarland of Union Street Bluefield area, married Luther King Turner son of Mrs Ida B Turner and the late John Turner in a small Westminster Presbyterian ceremony officiated by Dr C H Patterson with only family present. The bride wore a beige gabardine suit and purple orchid corsage. After a reception at the bride’s Union Street home, the couple left for an unannounced wedding trip. Turner is a former Graham high school graduate who served two and a half years in the European theatre as a bomb disposal sergeant and now works for Sublette Feed and Supply. Out of town guests included Mr and Mrs Joe D Barry and daughter, Miss and Mrs Prank Hudgins of Beckley, Mr and Mrs Jack McFarland of Princeton, and Chester Spriggs of Gary.

Catherine Veronica Zagata daughter of Mrs. Catherine Zagata and the late Frank Zagata of Hastings Pa united with Edward Skidmore of Narrows Va in a Saturday ceremony in Roanoke. The bride attended local schools and Triumph Industries prior to marriage. The groom, an ex chief yeoman USN, was discharged after four years active service with overseas time. he now works for Celanese Corporation of America. The couple will reside in Narrows.
