Cedar Bluff Virginia, Bobbie Jean Asbury, 44, died at the scene when a Mercury Topaz driven by Aretta Gay Asbury was struck by a left turning 1976 Oldsmobile at the Route 19 and Route 460 intersection around 11:45 a.m. The Oldsmobile driver’s name was not released. Trooper Brian Hackney led the investigation.

State Treasurer John Perdue gains backing in the West Virginia Legislature for House Bill 2159 and Senate Bill 70 to create a prepaid tuition program.
