Richlands Virginia police reported no incidents at the strike bound Clinch Valley Clinic Hospital as 175 members of the National Union of Hospital and Nursing Home Employes Union No 1199 joined a work stoppage that began February 13. An injunction by Circuit Court Judge Vincent L. Sexton limited picketing to six at the main entrance and six at the main exit, with two additional permits.
