Missing Pocahontas County Girl Found In Milton Case Against Minister
A 15 year old Pocahontas County girl who vanished January 24 was found in Milton living under an assumed name. The Rev Raymond Carpenter and his wife face abduction charges with preliminary hearing postponed due to weather. The girl said she left voluntarily over family disagreements and was not mistreated. She was lodged in Cabell County Detention Home and will be returned to Pocahontas County.

Three Rescued From Ohio Ice On River Barge

A Bluefield man, John Ed Cornell, was bound to the Mercer County grand jury on maiming charges following a jail brawl. The victim, William Franklin of Portsmouth, Virginia, was beaten in Bluefield jail during drunkenness detention.
