The Sacred Heart Parent Teacher Association hosted a week end card party with eleven bridge tables and three Monopoly tables at the Appalachian assembly room. Prizes went to Mrs. C. W. Frazer for ladies high and Edwin Hodges for men’s high. Mike Harrington won the door prize. General chairman Mrs. DL W. Pate, with Mrs. Judy leading the tables, organized refreshments led by Mrs. Cabell Payne assisted by Mrs. Phil Mops and Mrs. Henry Payne. The Valentine motif enhanced the event with sandwiches, salad, cake, coffee, and hard candies served late. The group expressed thanks to prize donors, food contributors, and the Joon newspaper for publicity.
