Judge Discharges Hill Jury After 69 Hours of Deliberations
Ottawa Illinois February 7 sixty nine hours after beginning deliberations the jury in the Marry Hill matricide case was discharged as hopelessly deadlocked. Nine jurors favored conviction with a possible 11 year term while three insisted on acquittal. State's Attorney Hanson will seek a new trial likely in March or April. Hill has been imprisoned since September in Seattle. The panel did not consider capital punishment.
