Bluefield city officials report steel is in place on the Grant Street Bridge and next week crews will begin decking. City Engineer Kerry Stauffer said the crane and tower used for setting the steel have been removed and all necessary components for this phase were cleared. He noted inspections confirm readiness and decking work will proceed with girders tying concrete to metal decking.

Omnis Building Project Plans Major Hiring in Bluefield

Gravely indicted on new charges including attempted murder
Delezha Gravely of Bluefield, already facing life as a habitual offender, was indicted by the Mercer County Grand Jury on two counts of attempted first degree murder, unlawful firearm possession, four counts of wanton endangerment, two counts of malicious assault, and one conspiracy count relating to a May 3 2022 drive by shooting on Frederick Street that injured a 7 year old and a 16 year old.
