The 80 year old boarded at 2182 Arch Street was discovered by a servant yesterday morning after being unseen since Saturday evening. Police were notified and he was cut down. Despondent over unemployment, Dodd had not been seen for days and was unmarried. His two brothers also lived at the Arch Street house.
Chris Fitzgerald and Walter Griffin, both described as colored, played cards at a Raleigh Street house last night. A dispute led Griffin to fire four shots, then flee as Fitzgerald returned fire. No injuries occurred. Fitzgerald was arrested and jailed in the calaboose. Police will present them before Mayor Watkins at 10 this morning.
