Oxford Industries Plant to Close in Pearisburg
The New River Valley Economic Alliance and Giles County officials will market the Oxford Industries Plant at Mountain View Industrial Park Pearisburg as 85 to 90 workers lose their jobs when the plant closes on March 13 due to foreign competition. An unidentified firm may create 50 to 100 jobs at the site, which could be attractive for electronic related industries. the plant will be showcased in Detroit and in California trade shows.
