Mercer County 911 reported a structure fire at Woody's Mobile Home Park on Airport Road near Brushfork around 4 36 pm. Bluewell Bluefield and Green Valley Glenwood volunteer fire departments plus Bluefield Rescue Squad were dispatched as initial reports indicated a mobile home blaze.

Mercer County opens ARP fund applications on county site
Mercer County residents can apply for American Rescue Plan funds to cover lost revenues and infrastructure projects including water sewer and broadband. The county has received 11.4 million in ARP aid with about 5.7 million disbursed in May 2021. Applications review starts next month. funds are limited to infrastructure based projects and not general festival requests.
