Damascus reports American journalist Jeremy Levin, held for 11 months, escaped from a Beirut captor and arrived at a Syrian army position in Lebanon. He will be handed to the U.S. ambassador in Damascus as Foreign Minister Farouk al Sharaa noted. Levin, 51, disappeared March 7 after being seized by a lone gunman. The White House confirmed he is safe in Damascus.
