Tobacco Season In Huntington Closes
Huntington West Virginia February 14 the doors of the tobacco warehouse closed as the 1945 46 season ended with sales near the season low. Today's sale 33868 pounds for 10280 72 dollars. About one and a half million pounds were sold this season more than last year. Manager Lee Lancaster said the average price per hundredweight was about one dollar below last season. He cited seven to eight thousand farmers in West Virginia and eastern Ohio marketing their tobacco in Huntington.
