Despite heavy snow on secondary roads Bluefield area florists kept Valentine deliveries moving. Ron Davis of Bluefield Florist reported 90 orders by morning and said four wheel drive trucks helped, while Charles Gearheart Jr of Flowers by Debbie in Bluefield, Va. said weather only slightly affected business as Valentine orders continued.

A Kanawha County Circuit Court judge issued a temporary injunction ordering an immediate rollback of West Virginia Turnpike toll increases. Judge Irene Berger ruled the parkways authority violated public notice requirements, with Greg Barr and 13 business plaintiffs seeking to revert tolls to December 2005 levels. Barr said changes would be implemented by end of business tomorrow pending possible appeal.
In Virginia, legislation named Indoor Clean Air Act to prohibit indoor smoking in most public buildings cleared both the Senate and House before the cross over deadline. The bill, spearheaded by State Senator J Brandon Bell II, allows private homes, residences, private cars, certain motel rooms, and specialty tobacco stores to remain smoke free or exempt.
