Surviving include her husband a son Donald Bruce and a brother Albert Davis of Danville Indiana. Funeral at 2 30 in O J Douglas chapel with Revs Brandon and Byrd. Body to be sent to Ashtabula Ohio for Saturday interment.

Two colored miners from Landgraff William Henry Stanfield thirty and Richard M Dickerson twenty six were killed in a slate fall at Veratas coal mines near Landgraff about four o clock Monday. Dickerson's mother Mrs Susie Dickerson of Landgraff survives him. Funeral services were held Thursday at Wingfield Baptist Church Landgraff with Rev J A Palmer officiating. Burial followed at Oakgrove cemetery Bluewell. Stanfield who had worked two years in the mine came from Stoneville North Carolina. He leaves a wife Mrs Mary Stanfield his mother Mrs Mattie Rollins of Stoneville and four brothers Fodis Charles Johnny and Robert all of Stoneville plus three daughters Yvonne Patricia Ann and Brenda Jean and two sons Harold and William H Jr all of Landgraff.

Bluefield firefighters were called to Snead's Grocery at 301 Bramwell Road after an oil stove exploded in an adjacent one room apartment. The Moore family home was gutted and furnishings destroyed while the second floor apartment suffered smoke damage. The grocery store sustained smoke damage and an additional fire at 2201 Washington Street caused by a burning flue did no damage.
