John Murray of the Bluefield Police Department described a pursuit after a reckless driver on South College. Ellison allegedly attempted to strike Sgt. Altizer with a vehicle, injuring him with a fist at the Thomas Street and Bluefield Avenue intersection. A grand jury indicted 106 individuals, 36 of whom remain sealed.

Deaths undisclosed as two men found near residence
Horne's coat lay on the seventh step and bodies found a little farther down. The handrail, possibly taped, showed damage this morning though not last night. One man had serious neck injuries and the other bleeding from the nose. No conclusive cause of death. Neal and Horne sent to the medical examiner in Charleston.
