The Artists league of Bluefield met at Vivene Art studios on Commerce street Tuesday evening with Miss Irene Norris presiding. Wharton Black gave a lively talk on Paul Cezanne interlaced with humor and anecdotes. Mrs Phoebe Goodwill charmingly presented Egyptian art covering religion life and tomb decoration with vivid wall paintings and goldsmith works. A Valentine plate was served and the next meeting is set for March 8.

Keen interest builds for an Alders Gate Retreat Saturday from 2 to 6 30 pm at the Hlett cabin Falls Mille with Tri District Young People's union oversight. Youth council members meet at Bluefield Virginia Methodist church by 1 pm to carpool to the event. The program commemorates John Wesley's Alders Gate experience and includes talks by church leaders on the meaning for individuals. A six o'clock supper precedes an all men’s meeting of the Tri District Union at 7 45 pm at Athens Methodist Church Bluefield. The date was changed to avoid Friday basketball conflicts.

She receives a leave of absence from Beaver High School physical education. Mrs Marshall Sherer will fill her Beaver faculty position for the semester.
