Ephraim Bumbry a 22 year old accused of many offenses was sentenced to fifteen years in prison by Judge Chichester in King George county court for shooting and robbing Capt. Pritchard an oyster buyer. He boarded the schooner at Machodoc Creek at midnight and after being ordered off he shot the captain in the leg and took about $30. Bumbry was arrested identified and convicted. The county breathes freer now that he is under restraint.
