Prince Alfred of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha died at Meran after long chronic cerebral trouble. Born October 15 1874 at Buckingham Palace he was Queen Victoria's grandson and the second son of the Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He served as a captain in the Prussian Infantry and remained unmarried.
