Local Woman Struck By Car in Bluefield
Mrs. Mary B Smith, 74, of 120 Summers street Bluefield, sustained a broken pelvis and was described as satisfactory and somewhat improved after a collision yesterday at the intersection of Strindeton avenue and Federal street. The car was driven by Carl Pierce of Sardinia Ohio. Police report states Pierce did not know he had hit the victim until he heard a scream. No charges had been filed against Pierce.

Wisconsin Man Held in Raleigh Jail
Harry Henshel also known as George Polikeromis, a Wisconsin man, was captured in Princeton by federal agents on a charge of fleeing Wisconsin to avoid prosecution. He was brought to Beckley after a preliminary hearing before U S Commissioner Joe Rangeley. Henshel, about 30 years old, came from Cuba City Wisconsin, where he faces a charge of carnal abuse of an eight year old girl. He could not post 5000 dollars bond and was held for the federal grand jury, saying he would consent to extradition to Wisconsin while denying the accusation as a frame up.

Funeral at Boissevain Methodist church at 2:30 this afternoon with Rev Ritchie officiating. Interment in Maple Hill cemetery.
