Edgar Thomason, 31, of Lashmeet, was killed instantly at 10:30 yesterday morning by a heavy slate fall in the Turkey Gap Coal and Coke Company mine at Dott. Thomason, a coal loader, was pinned against an empty coal car edge. He was born February 27, 1913, in Kegley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomason of Littlesburg. Surviving include his wife, two daughters Doris Rae and Emma Dean, a son Glenn, stepson Clayton Lilly, a brother Charles Thomason, and four sisters Flora Campton, Ruby Bailey, Mary and Virginia Thomason. Funeral at Mount Olivet Methodist church in Lashmeet Thursday at 2 PM. Rev. Fred Robertson and Rev. Z F Mayberry officiating.

Missing Dewey Isbell Reported in France Action
Albert Isbell of Asco is notified by the war department that his son Pfc. Dewie Isbell is missing in action in France since January 5. A brother Pvt. Zebiepet was wounded in Germany January 3 and another brother S Sgt. Elbert Isbell serves with the army air forces in Florida. Dewey Isbell enlisted four years ago, served at Camp Shelby and Pevinama, was sent to England in October and France in late 1944. The wounded brother is in an English hospital and improving.
