Two Robbery Suspects Held in Esso Service Center Case
Jake Johnson and Nathaniel Randolph, both Bluefield colored men aged 26 and 28, are jailed in connection with the Esso Servicenter robbery in south Bluefield earlier this week. A private citizen alerted Police Chief W B Owen about two suspicious men near the station night of the break in and $10 was taken from the pay phone. A 1:45 a m electric clock stopped, signaling the time of entry. Randolph led officers to Johnson who had worked at the station about a week. Johnson denied involvement.
