Negro boy sentenced for attempt to poison in Norfolk
In Norfolk on February 6 a twelve year old colored boy named Robert Page was found guilty of attempting to poison the Camp family. He was sentenced to nine years in a penitentiary before the court later modifying the punishment to nine years in a reformatory. He had placed Rough on Rats in a tea pot intended for the housekeeper, but the tainted tea sickened Mr and Mrs Camp. The incident involved the Camp household and a successful trial.

Fire destroys Elliott home in Laurel family escapes
