Mrs Pearl Burnett Crawford 48, wife of Vir ginian railway roundhouse foreman William H. Crawford of The Divides Bluefield area, died in Bluefield sanitarium after diabetes complications. Funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at College Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Davis. burial in Monte Vista Park Mausoleum. Survived by husband, parents, and many siblings including Frank, Cancel, H O McCormick, Alfred, Willis, Woodrow, F E Lambert, C F Tabor, Mable Burnett, and Burnett. a niece Pansy Hawks resided with her. Native of Kyle, McDowell County, long known in Bluefield and Tazewell County.

Gilmore’s home on Greenbrier Street caused about $100 in damages, likely from a defective flue. At 4 PM a broken hydrant on Giles Street sent steam up, prompting fears of an underground fire. At 5:45 PM a fire at L. C. Rigging’s home on Lyndall Avenue burned briefly with about $5 in damages. Chief McClure cites cold weather driving soot flames from flues.

Roanoke Va February 5 nearly 37 700 Virginia veterans of World War I are in educational or job training under GI bill and the rehabilitation act. About 2 000 entered training in January with 24 110 in educational programs and 13 577 in job training. Date For Airport Inspection Set For Bluefield
