University Club Names Officers
The University Club held its annual meeting on Raleigh street to elect officers and plan 1947 activities. Dr. M. H. Nichlason was chosen as president and Herman Kerchner as vice president. T. B. Barrow J. C. Borden and F. McCue became new board members, with Harry Holmes B. F. Williamson Frank J. Smooth and Charles McD Harrell remaining as hold-overs.

Gasoline ignition during thawing near his car proved fatal to Andrew C. Grimsley 22 in Richlands hospital. He died about six hours after the tank exploded enveloping the auto. A Grimsleyville, Buchanan county resident, he was born there son of James L. and Alemeda Hagg Grimsley. Surviving are parents and many siblings including Linkous, Otis, Flora Batley, Roy, Edward, Charles, Pearl, Minnie Ware, Donald. Funeral services pending arrival of a brother from California. remains at Farmers Funeral Home.

New Buses Replace Princeton Trolleys by Mid Month
Tri City Traction replaces the Bluefield Princeton street cars with six new motor buses on routes between Bluefield and Princeton. Buses will run every hour during slack times on a thirty minute schedule, cutting trip time to about thirty minutes. Stops include the Bluefield passenger station and a mid town stop, with exact locations to be decided after traffic surveys. The shift marks a modernization of regional transport dating back to 1918 and will end the era of the old trolley service by mid month.
