Three Die After Falls Mills Car Wreck
Tom Holley a 24 year old Jenkinjones resident died at Providence hospital from internal injuries after a car wreck on a curve near Falls Mills plunged into the Bluestone river. Two companions Will English 45 and Ed Bogie 25 both of Jenkin Jones also drowned as the vehicle overturned and submerged. All three men worked for Pocahontas Fuel company. Virginia state trooper A B Andes said excessive speed on a curve caused the crash and found several whiskey bottles in the car. The car was registered to Jerry Leftwich of Jenkin Jones who said he loaned it to his brother for a trip to Welch.

Funeral rites at the Markle home on Oakhurst avenue were led by Rev Jennings W Hobson of Christ Episcopal Church. The body rests at Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery on the Bluefield Bramwell road amid numerous floral tributes.

Two Homes Entered and Four Autos Broken Into News Brief
Two homes on Raleigh Terrace and Boone Street in Bluefield were entered Thursday night. At J. P. James residence a pipe and $20 were stolen. Mrs. James found the door open and the sitting room torn. At J. W. Wickham residence trousers were taken and found in the back yard with six dollars missing. Four parked autos behind the West Virginian hotel were broken into. items were taken from two cars while the other two showed no loss.
