Winton Hoge Stafford 77, a Mercer county retired farmer, died at 11 40 am yesterday at his Oakvale home from apoplexy. Born October 22 1855, he was the son of Dwight P Stafford and Cynthia M Burton Stafford. Surviving are his widow, two sons W W Stafford of Anjean and W War 1 Stafford of Oakvale, and a daughter Mrs J T Habsis of 405 Fourth Street. Burial will be at Oakvale Cemetery after funeral at 330 yesterday.

A 14 year old, Brown of 1128 Johnson street, suffered a leg fracture in a coasting accident at Giles street and Princeton avenue. He was taken to the Bluefield sanitarium. The car involved, owned by JR Witt of 119 Giles street, was stationary at the intersection. Scout Official To Speak Here At Western WV Show
The Southern West Virginia council of the Boy Scouts of America will hold its annual meeting at the West Virginian hotel in Bluefield tomorrow night with Dr. Huber W. Hurt national Scout official delivering the main address. He will also join a joint Kiwanis Rotary and Quota clubs luncheon and address the Bluefield Ministerial Association. Youths Steal Safe From Hospital in Fairmont Case
Two Fairmont West Virginia youths, William Shumaker and Hob Hogan, were arrested in Johnstown Pennsylvania for stealing a safe from a Fairmont hospital. The safe contained narcotics and was cracked open, police said. They face federal charges of possession of narcotics and are held on $2000 bail for a federal grand jury action next month. Johnstown officers Robert Focktor and Ole Labr, who had prior arrests in the case, reported receiving the narcotics from the Fairmont youths.
