Jail trusty charged with still ownership
James Ple Law a jail trusty and Mary Alfen Moore Welch colored were arrested Wednesday night by city police and state troopers for having a still in their possession. Officers found a 20 gallon copper still and a small quantity of liquor at the Moore home. Law a trusty on the city chain gang is allowed to go home at nights. The pair were lodged in jail and will have a hearing in pulla court tonight. Arresting officers were Chief Howard Sty Patrolman Thompson Johnson and Sergeant Bardoa.
